It 's hard to think about springtime where I live right now with several feet of snow still piled on the ground, but my body senses the change in light and my spirit is on the rise. Winter light is giving way to more sunshine, the harbinger of spring, and I feel like I am waking up.

We learn about ourselves through fresh experience. Infinite possibilities, that we have had no prior knowlege of even existing, present themselves when we clean house. At this time of the year, Mother Earth is busy sweeping away clutter and debris making way for new life. In the same way, we can set our intent into new directions by letting go of the things that hold us back. Most often, all it takes is a change in perspective to see how things have been piling up. If we shift our viewpoint a tiny bit to the right or left, we will have a clearer picture of the way we set up our house keeping. We can take out the garbage, clear away the clutter and make room for new life.

I am a journaling person by nature. Writing down my thoughts has been a frequent habit of mine for years and years. Journaling is educational.....it has taught me many things about myself that no one else could. It is fairly impossible to really learn by another one's mistake, but we can learn from ourselves. Our own written words have so much to tell us. Writing is one thing, but looking back at what we wrote is amazing. Writing for everyone to see on the internet, is quite different. This will be a challenge.

First I am a nurturer, and then an artist. I love beautiful things. I love people. Painting angels is a joyful task because it embraces and meshes together the things I love. It allows me to create something beautiful in the form of a human being. We all have our own vision of what angels look like. I prefer to think they are magnificent beautiful creatures filled with light and love. They are caretakers and protectors and are frequently portrayed with children. They can come to our rescue when called upon. I am never at a loss of how to paint them.
